This Bargain Thursday showcases FREE fun deals.
You can hold tarantulas and check out other spiders and snakes at the Lichterman Nature Center. But beware the bigger-than-life robotic tarantulas coming to the Pink Palace later this summer. They are part of a new exhibit Twice Bitten: Robotic Insects & Live Tarantulas.
If you want all this free it's time to sign up for your FREE three-month membership.
"Trial membership lasts through Labor Day. Free admission to the Pink Palace and Lichterman Nature Center. Discounts at the Museum store, giant screen 3-d theater," says Tony Hardy.
There are plenty of movies to choose from in the giant 3-D theatre. Hardy says, âWe have Jerusalem, Flight of the Butterflies, Tornado Ally, June 28th opening Meerkats. All are going to love it."
Lichterman has three miles of trails set on 65 magnificent acres filled with wildlife and hands-on exhibits.
A Lichterman Nature Center guide showed us a "good" snake on our visit. âYou see how his head is shaped like my thumb. That means you can give him the thumbs up. Here in TN he's a non-venomous snake."
Lots of fun and lots of learning and it's all free. You do have to sign up by May 31st at MemphisMuseums.org.
Another free thing for the kids to do this summer is at the bowling alley. Kids bowl free at seven bowling alleys in the Mid-South. You can sign up for two free games every day. All you pay for is the shoe rental and snacks. Parents can sign up too for a small fee.
Finally, there are also some free water spray parks in Collierville and Memphis. Click on the links for details.
