Three people were killed in a car accident in Tippah County, Miss. The crash happened around 1 a.m. Sunday on US 72 near Walnut, according to Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Investigators said Jeremiah Johnson, 19, of New Albany, was driving a Buick Lucerne eastbound in the westbound lanes when his vehicle collided head-on with a Cadillac Escalade. That car was driven by Livingston Hudson, 32, of Jackson, Tenn.

Johnson died on the scene. His 19-year-old passenger was airlifted to Regional One with non-life threatening injuries.
Hudson and one of his passengers, 34-year-old Maurio Martin of Jackson, also died on the scene. Two other passengers in that car were airlifted to Regional One to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The crash is under investigation and troopers are working to determine if drugs or alcohol may have played a role.
