• 5 shot, 2 dead in 3 Memphis shootings


    Two people were killed and five shot overall in three separate shootings late Monday in a three-hour period on the streets of Memphis.

    One of the fatal shootings was a police officer-involved shooting was between an off duty officer and a teenager.

    The officer-involved shooting took place at around 8 p.m. Monday, Memphis police confirmed. An off-duty Memphis police officer shot and killed a 15-year-old at the intersection of Wooddale and Jenkins. The teen and one of his brothers were walking home from a nearby store.

    FOX13 News sources say the 15-year-old was shot by the unidentified off duty officer while the teen was involved in an attempted robbery. The teen and his brother attempted to rob the off-duty officer.

    Over in North Memphis on the corner of Crockett and Keel two triggermen shot three people, killing one. One of the victims from the Keel shooting remains in critical condition at The MED.

    Police say the two alleged triggermen are in their late teens and early 20s. One of the suspects had dreadlocks and was wearing all black clothing. The second suspect is about 5-foot-2 in height.

    Shortly after 10:30 p.m., patrols were dispatched to another shooting where one person was shot at the Walden Point Apartments off Raleigh Millington Road.

    The victim in the apartment shooting is listed in extremely critical condition at The MED.

    There was no description given of the alleged gunman in the apartment shooting.
