Collierville High students win state robotics competition

Collierville High School’s robotics team is heading to the VEX Robotics World Championship in Louisville, Kentucky.

The team won big in Nashville on Feburary 21 as their robot named “The Illumunati” took home the gold.

In addition to taking home title of “Tournament Champion” the group also received the sportsmanship award. Team sponsor Shelli Brasher, also received an award for TN Vex Partner of the Year.

The members of the VEX team heading to the World Championship are David Boers, Anjali Padiyar, Grace Capooth, Nate Gerjets, Josh Cole, Luis Rey, Sawyer Wiegant, Tyler Mimes, Gemia Williams, Cameron Hayden, Sebastian Mobo, and Justice Maravilla.
