Due to remnants of Tropical Depression Isaac making his way through the Mid-South, tonight's Lynyrd Skynyrd at the Memphis Botanical Garden has been postponed.
"Our first priority is always the safety of our patrons, and the potentially unsafe conditions created by this storm system, with the forecasted rain and especially the high wind gusts gave us no other choice," said Jim Duncan, Executive Director of the Memphis Botanic Garden. "We are delighted that we were able to reschedule in that this will be a fun and entertaining show."
Skynyrd, who was in Millington Friday afternoon for an autograph session ahead of tonight's canceled concert, will return to the Bluff City to perform Sept. 12.
"We are disappointed to hear about Memphis being rescheduled but look forward to the new show in September," said Johnny Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd. "Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone for their safety during the storms. We look forward seeing our Skynyrd Nation in Memphis soon!"
Those unable to attend the Wednesday, Sept. 12 concert will be able to obtain a refund through Live at The Garden.
