A Memphis man charged with first degree murder in a December 2015 shooting is in court today.
18-year-old Raymon Muhammad is charged with first degree murder in the death of John Jones.
The incident happened December 23, 2015 in the 1500 block of McMillan. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.
The death was ruled a homicide by gunshot wound.
Investigators developed Muhammad as a suspect. According to the arrest affidavit, he admitted to shooting and killing the victim.
In addition to first degree murder, Muhammad is charged with burglarly, theft of property and vandalism. Those charges stem from a September 2015 incident where the 18-year-old is accused of stealing a car and 1 carat diamond earring out of man’s driveway.
Raymon Muhammad is being held in the Shelby County jail.
