Updated:When it comes to corruption, Mississippi takes the top spot.
The rankings are based on data from the U.S. Department of Justice.
Researchers looked at the number of federal, state, and local public officials convicted of a corruption-related crime from 1976 to 2008.
Mississippi was number one and Tennessee ranked third on the list. The least corrupt state is Oregon.
