Joe Jackson's block sparks Tigers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A team effort allowed Memphis to overcome a 12-point second half deficit, but one play ignited the Tigers to one of their biggest wins of the season.

The Tigers were trailing by 12 with less than 14 minutes to go in the game. Tigers forward Shaq Goodwin gambled on an entry pass, and Gonzaga forward Prezemek Karnowski (listed at 7-1) had a free run at the hoop.

That's when Jackson flew in, soaring up to meet Karnowski at the rim, getting a clean block on the seven-footer and starting a fast break, which Goodwin finished with a layup.

"I just tried to make a play on the ball," Jackson said after the game. "Honestly, I was just telling myself not to get dunked on... But I jumped to block it and I was successful today."

Memphis finished the game on a 30-12 run, beating No. 23 Gonzaga in front of over 18,000 fans at the Forum for one of their biggest wins of the year.
