Kristin is FOX13’s Consumer Investigative Reporter and fill-in anchor. She joined FOX13 as a general assignment reporter in 2015.
Before moving to Memphis, Kristin worked at WRAL-TV in Raleigh, NC. She got her start in news as a production assistant at WRAL in 2013, and eventually became the weekend assignment editor.
Kristin earned her degree in journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to being a passionate Tar Heels basketball fan, you’ll find Kristin at just about every tailgate at the Liberty Bowl, cheering on the Memphis Tigers.
Kristin focuses her reports at FOX13 on investigating local consumer complaints, and stories that impact viewers’ money, health and safety.
Before transitioning to her role as a consumer reporter in 2017, Kristin was a general assignment reporter at FOX13 for two years. During that time, she covered several stories of national interest.
Kristin followed Tennessee Task Force 1 to South Carolina as Hurricane Matthew shredded the East Coast. She was assigned to report in Baton Rouge, La. in 2016, when six officers were shot by a lone gunman following turmoil in the community after the police shooting of Alton Sterling. Kristin covered the military plane crash in Mississippi that killed 16 service members in the summer of 2017.
In addition to major national stories, Kristin has covered high-profile murder trials, local crime and gang violence, and public school news and scandals. She’s lead multiple investigations of the Memphis Police Department’s staffing shortage. She’s investigated local public officials, keeping FOX13’s promise to hold the powerful accountable.
As a reporter, Kristin’s goal is to approach every story with an investigative eye, digging deeper to tell stories with context. Additionally, Kristin strives to be a voice for the voiceless, and to never lose sight of the people at the heart of every story.
In her spare time, Kristin volunteers as a member of the Junior League of Memphis. She enjoys exploring locally- owned restaurants, and the amazing food the South has to offer. If you visit Shelby Farms or the Memphis Riverfront, you may find Kristin running or walking Oliver, her spoiled-rotten dog.
