Willie Hooper said he has known Jackson for several years, and every year when he visited Memphis from Ohio, Hooper said he has made it a priority to see Jackson.
“Knocked on the door, tried to pull the door... it was locked. The screen door was locked, so I thought he was probably asleep,” Hooper said.
Police said they arrived to the victim’s home around 11 Tuesday night.
When they arrived, they found Jackson's body.
Police said a woman, Ariane Stokes, was on the scene when investigators arrived.
“He has a lot of seizures, so I figured maybe he has had a seizure," Hooper said of his friend. "I told some people down the street."
Police took Stokes into custody.
We have asked police how long the victim had been dead. At this time, they could not confirm that with us.
Stokes is charged with second degree murder and making a false report.
