The teen was introduced to Courtney D. Johnson by a woman she met at a corner store, according to an affidavit.

She said she had sex with several men including Johnson. However, when she told the 28-year-old that she did not want to engage in any other sexual activity with strange men, the man reportedly struck her in the face.

The teen also said Johnson raped her when she did not verbally respond to him.

The 15-year-old continued to be sex trafficked as she was in fear. A Backpage advertisement was created for her, and she was forced to take pictures with nothing but a bra and panties.

She said Johnson forced her to lie about her age when asked by customers. All proceeds went to Johnson. The man used the money for her personal needs and food for her to survive, according to the teen.

MPD conducted a search warrant on September 27 in the 200 block of Harrell. Upon making entry, Johnson fled the scene.

Investigators documented that Johnson is a member of the Grape Street Crip gang.

Johnson was finally captured and booked into the Shelby County Jail on November 19.
