The attorneys for Ismael Lopez have written a letter asking the justice department to investigate.
Lopez was shot and killed by Southaven police on July 23rd when officers went to the wrong house to serve a warrant.
The letter states in part:
"We believe the facts as they exist today support a conclusion that Mr. Lopez's rights were violated in such a severe and obvious way that mandates examination and action by your department."
