MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The Memphis Grand Carousel is headed to Memphis and will be installed soon.
The 1909 Dentzel carousel was restored and will be installed in the Memphis Grand Carousel Pavilion and Ballroom at the Children's Museum of Memphis.
On Monday, the carousel will ship from Marion, Ohio via FedEx.
It will arrive in Memphis on Thursday, November 2. The unloading process will begin November 3. It will be installed on November 6.
A grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony will be held Saturday, December 2.

The carousel is one of the oldest wooden carousels in the country. The restoration cost $1 million and took two years to complete.
The Children's Museum of Memphis will be one of three accredited children's museums in the country to house an authentic, operational Dentzel grand carousel.
