MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A Memphis man was arrested Thursday after Memphis Police Department's Organized Crime Unit discovered a great amount of marijuana and thousands of dollars inside a Memphis home.
Officers received a complaint of drug activity at a residence in the 4800 block of Buttermilk Drive. Melvin Tamayo, 44, was seen leaving the residence carrying two duffel bags containing 10 pounds of marijuana.
Officers later secured a search warrant for the residence and confiscated approximately 84 pounds of marijuana and approximately $10,000 in cash.
Tamayo was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell.
He's in jail on a $250,000 bond.
