MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Memphis police are investigating a rape at an off-campus apartment complex for University of Memphis students.
Police told FOX13 the rape happened Monday night just before 7 p.m.

University of Memphis students who live at the Stratum on Highland learned Memphis police were investigating a rape in their building.
"First reaction can be, 'Oh, that can happen to me,'” University of Memphis student Diamond Long said.
MPD isn’t releasing details about the rape, only saying that it’s an ongoing investigation.
"I'm more aware now, knowing it's something that can happen in my own place. It’s something that can happen with anybody,” University of Memphis student Ernest Long said.
In 2016, eight forcible sex crimes were reported on the main campus. Only one was reported off campus.
Memphis police have not released any information on the suspect they are looking for in this case.
