• SCSO warns public of text message scam

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of a text scam.

SCSO says citizens are receiving text messages asking them to pay a $250 fine for speeding.

The message says that failure to pay will result in a warrant for arrest and impoundment of your vehicle.

Deputies say the message is completely bogus and they do contact people via text.
