Southaven Alderman charged with procuring prostitution

DESOTO COUNTY, Tenn. - A North Mississippi Alderman has been arrested and charged with procuring prostitution.

Ronald Wayne Hale was currently at the DeSoto County jail with a $1,000 bond, according to sheriff's office. He was later released earlier Wednesday afternoon. The usually outspoken Alderman had nothing to say as he left the DeSoto County Jail.

The Southaven Alderman was scheduled to go in front a judge Monday morning on the charges.

Known as "Ronnie," Hale is the Alderman of Ward 2 in Southaven. Hale is serving his second term as an alderman he first served 2009 until 2013. 

Hale is also a Memphis firefighter.

The DeSoto County Sheriff’s Department told FOX13 they have no further comment at this time. However, the Southaven Mayor Darren Musselwhite released this statement: 

"While this is obviously very concerning to me, it is a personal legal matter fir Alderman Hale with an ongoing investigation by the DeSoto County Sheriff's Department. It is not appropriate for me to make any further comment until the investigation and judicial process has been completed."

Hale is scheduled to be in court on November 27.
