MEMPHIS, Tenn. - An arrest has been made in a murder that happened at a local IHOP in May.
U.S. Marshals Service told FOX13 Derrick Harris was arrested Wednesday in Chicago, Illinois.

An arrest arrant was issued for Harris on May 28, 2017. Harris is accused of shooting and killing Devin Wilson at the IHOP located at 1277 East Shelby Drive.
Wilson was a young father and an Air Force veteran. Police told FOX13 he was trying to break up a domestic dispute outside the restaurant when he was shot and killed.

The woman he was trying to defend was a complete stranger, who was allegedly being chocked and beaten by her ex-boyfriend. Wilson stopped the attack, but he was killed by the man.
Police identified Harris as the man suspected of pulling the trigger.
Investigators were able to track Harris in a Chicago area near the intersection of South Constance and East 72nd Street.
Harris tried to flee out the back of the apartment, according to U.S. Marshals Service.
He was eventually taken into custody without any further incident.
He remains in custody awaiting extradition.
