Three face capital murder charges in shooting death of 6-year-old

MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Three men are in the Madison County Mississippi jail charged with the capital murder of a 6-year-old boy.

Law enforcement in Mississippi told FOX13 19-year-old Byron McBride, 17-year-old D'Allen Washington and 17-year-old Dwan Wakefield stole a car from a Jackson, Mississippi Kroger parking lot Thursday morning with the 6-year-old inside.

FOX13 has learned Wakefield, 18, attended Ridgeland High School where he played quarterback on the football team. 

“They all will be charged with capital murder at this time,” Madison County Sheriff, Randy Tucker said.

Mississippi Law Enforcement told us a Toyota Camry with 6-year-old Kingston Frazier inside was stolen around 1:15 Thursday morning from the parking of a Kroger in the 4900 block Interstate 55 North.

Three hours later, an Amber Alert was issued for Kingston.

Two hours later, information about the suspects and a second car are released by police.

Police said by 10 a.m. the stolen car and the 6-year-old who had been shot were found on Gluckstadt Road.

“We are not charging them with kidnapping because the kidnapping and the murder merged together forms capital murder,” Madison and Rankin Counties District Attorney, Michael Guest said.

FOX13 has learned an investigation involving state and local law enforcement will be working collectively on this case.

As it stands, all three suspects are being held without bond.

“It is possible that as the investigation continues to unfold those charges could change at some extent,” Guest said.

FOX13 is working to learn when these three suspects will face a judge.
