A traffic stop on an Alabama interstate turned into a major drug bust.
On November 21, two cars that were traveling together and speeding were pulled over in Jefferson County, Ala.
After getting consent, members of the Sheriff’s Highway Safety Unit searched the vehicles. Two duffle bags were found in the trunk of each car.

The bags in one car contained 55 pounds of marijuana, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. The other bags were holding 62 pounds of marijuana.
The sheriff’s department estimated the street value of the marijuana to be $117,000.
Both drivers were taken to the Jefferson County jail. They have not been identified as charges are pending.
