Dye’s children were in the house where Covington police said 20-year-old Dacavious Fayne shot a man several times in the leg.
“My babies had to actually run for their life and get on the ground and my disabled aunt who is confined to a wheelchair couldn’t get on the ground,” Dye said.
After being shot, the man went looking for help nearby.
“This guy ran, he hit this door, and I came and he was sitting right here bleeding right there,” Dye said.
Covington police said they have arrested Fayne several times before.
Police said Fayne has several active warrants out for his arrest.
Dye said Fayne is known to be a troublemaker around the neighborhood.
“This is not his first time doing this, not his second time doing this. Plenty of times he has done this in Covington,” Dye said.
Less than five minutes away from this shooting scene, police told us they were investigating another shooting in the 1500 block of College.

Police could not confirm if the two shootings are connected.
“He’s still walking around here with a gun, like I said someone is going to end up dead,” Dye said.
