Lakiya Scott serves as your local Education Reporter. She started her journey with FOX13 in January of 2022. Lakiya comes to the Bluff City by way of the Mississippi Delta where she was Evening Anchor for The Delta News. While there, she often conducted timely interviews with municipal and state leaders regarding emergency storm recovery for local residents and infrastructure legislation. She got her start in journalism through internships at Flint and Detroit-area news stations. Lakiya was born in France, and raised in Atlanta, GA. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, fitness and is a true foodie, so you can catch her in the kitchen whipping up a meal or around town trying out a new restaurant. Lakiya is a graduate of Alcorn State University and Kettering University. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
