Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter has sought a restraining order against his little brother, Aaron Carter, citing threats he says Aaron Carter made against the boy bander's family.

Billboard reported that Nick Carter, 39, issued a statement announcing the news on Twitter Tuesday, adding that his sister, Angel Carter, is also seeking a restraining order.

"After careful consideration, my sister Angel and I regret that we were required to seek a restraining order against our brother Aaron today," Nick Carter said. "In light of Aaron's increasingly alarming behavior and his recent confession that he harbors thoughts and intentions of killing my pregnant wife and unborn child, we were left with no choice but to take every measure possible to protect ourselves and our family. We love our brother and truly hope he gets the proper treatment he needs before any harm comes to himself or anyone else."

Aaron Carter, 31, claims his brother is seeking the restraining order because he did a live stream with Melissa Schuman, a woman who has accused Nick Carter of raping her in 2002, when she was 18 and he was 22. Schuman filed a lawsuit against him in 2017, which it was dismissed the next year.

Aaron Carter continued to address the restraining order, which he confirmed he received, in numerous tweets.

"Take care. @nickcarter we’re done for life," he said in one tweet

"I haven’t even seen you guys and nick you bullied me my whole life," Aaron Carter said in another tweet. And tortured me as a child. And everyone knows it. ITS BEEN PUBLIC. and now you’re scared of the truth."

He also included a clip from their E! reality show, in which the Carter brothers get into a fight.

Weeks earlier, Aaron Carter said in since-deleted tweets that he was prevented from visiting his older brother's child and that Nick Carter has left his family behind, according to Billboard.

ETOnline reported Aaron Carter appeared on "The Doctors" last week and said he had been taking multiple prescription medications for anxiety, schizophrenia, multiple personality disorder and manic depression.

TMZ reported that a hearing for a permanent restraining order is set for Oct. 16.
