How to get around St. Jude Marathon and Tigers game

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — This weekend will be a big one for the City of Memphis. A lot of events going on across the city including the St. Jude Marathon.

Several roads will be closed. Road closures include:

  • B.B. King Blvd from Carolina to A.W. Willis
  • 2nd St. from Beale St to Butler
  • Beale St from 2nd St to Riverside Dr
  • Front St from Monroe Ave to Georgia St
  • Riverside Dr to Court St, Union Ave from Danny Thomas Blvd to B.B. King

Road closures start Friday, December 6th at 8 p.m. and will last until Saturday, December 7th at 4 p.m.

To get around the marathon, people living in Harbor Town, North, and East Memphis can take North Front Street to Chelsea Avenue down to Hollywood Street.

You can take Hollywood Street down to the Liberty Bowl if you are trying to get to the AAC Championship game between the Memphis Tiger and Cincinnati Bearcats.

You can also take Hollywood Street to Sam Cooper Boulevard to the flyover if you are looking to get out of the downtown area.

If you’re driving from South Memphis trying to get to the Liberty Bowl, you can take Lamar Avenue up to Southern Avenue or, you can take Airways Boulevard up to the Liberty Bowl.

You can also take I-240 to also get around the city.
