• Agricenter gets $100,000 grant for Agricenter Trail

    Updated:

Agricenter International has been given $100,000 by the Shelby County Commission to further the completion of the Agricenter Trail.

The money comes in the form of a Community Enhancement Grant. Commissioner Heidi Shafer used her full $100,000 allotment on the project. She said, “Connecting the Agricenter Farmer’s Market to the Greenline makes good sense, giving walkers and bike riders reliable access to fresh foods right here in District 5.”

President of Agricenter International John Butler added, “We are humbled to receive this grant from Commissioner Shafer and are looking forward to furthering the network of greenway connections throughout the Mid-South.”

Agricenter Trail is a partially paved path that starts at the Pick Your Own Strawberry Patch and ends at the Agricenter Farmer’s Market.
