2 high-profile Mississippi murder cases granted orders of continuance

OXFORD, Miss. — Orders of Continuance were filed in the capital murder cases against Matthew Kinne and Brandon Theesfeld on Monday, according to D.A. Ben Creekmore.

This means both district attorney Ben Creekmore and the defense teams for each defendant asked for more time to prepare for their trials.

Oxford police officer Matthew Kinne was charged with murder in the shooting death of Dominique Clayton, 32. Clayton was allegedly shot in the back of the head in May 2019 inside her home on Suncrest Drive.

In August 2019, Brandon Theesfeld, 22, was indicted by a grand jury for the murder of fellow Ole Miss student Ally Kostial, 21.

Investigators said he kidnapped her before shooting her to death near Sardis lake in July.
