MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Monday morning a burglar was caught on camera breaking into a home in South Memphis.
The homeowner reached out to FOX13 in hopes someone will recognize the suspect.
The incident will cost the family more than $1,200 in repairs and security improvements.
“Somebody knows him and I do want him caught," said the homeowner, Sherman Mason.
Home surveillance video shows the suspect falling off a trash can as he tried to climb through the window.
Mason said luckily no one was home at the time of the break in, but his family is now frightened.
The video shows the suspect with an iPad and two TV’s.
But this crime has cost this father and husband more than just replacing gadgets and TV’s
Mason had to take a day off of work to add new burglar bars to his windows and replace the one that was broken.
Mason said he suspects the clumsy crook might have a drug addiction and the burglary was a means to feed his habit.
“I want this guy to get some help. If indeed he wants some help there are ways to get him help but sure I want him caught.”
Mason said his home has been broken into twice in the last three months and he suspects the clumsy crook may be responsible.
