MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman mourning the loss of her husband and still recovering from a car crash is now dealing with her home being ransacked by thieves.

This home is where Dorothy shared a last meal with her husband and two kids before a wreck that took her husband’s life.

“We were just going to the store and back we didn’t make it back,” said Dorothy.

Dorothy spent days in the hospital grieving her husband and undergoing multiple surgeries.

She said the thief stole several televisions, her husband’s car and other belongings.

“It was very evil and vindictive to do something to someone while you are in the hospital fighting for his life, he was fighting for his life.”

Police are still searching for the burglar.

Dorothy is staying with family friends during her recovery. If you’d like to help her out a gofundme has been set up for her and her family.

Memphis police said the toxicology report is pending for the driver who crashed into the family.
