Father turns son in for murder of truck driver, documents say

SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — A man has been arrested after a truck driver was found dead of two gunshot wounds in the cab of his truck.

According to the affidavit, James Huddleston, 27, was turned in by his father after surveillance photos were released.

Surveillance video from inside the cab showed Huddleston and the victim talking. That video showed Huddleston standing in front of Stuart, who was in the bunk area, when a gunshot was hear, according to the affidavit.

Huddleston was then seen dragging Stuart to the floor and then shooting him a second time, the affidavit said.

According to the affidavit, Huddleston then tried to drive the tractor-trailer, but was unsuccessful so, he grabbed his backpack and left the gun behind.

A search warrant was obtained and detectives found a gun box with the same serial numbers as the gun left at the scene, the affidavit said.

According to SCSO, Huddleston was charged with several felonies and two counts of first-degree murder.

The driver was found dead in the cab of a tractor-trailer on the side of the interstate.

According to SCSO, the victim was identified as Dajuante Stuart, 30, from Hermitage, TN.
