"At the end of the day you don’t know what is going to happen,” the inmate said when asked if he was in fear for his life.

FOX13 agreed not to share his identity. However, we did confirm he is an inmate currently in Parchman.

Inmates managed to share pictures of the disgusting living conditions in their cells.

“They got mice and rats running through the cells. They have snakes in the building,” the inmate said.

The inmate said the jail is on lockdown while in many parts of the building there isn’t heat or running water.

He said Mississippi State Police have been to the prison several times to maintain the peace.

The Mississippi Department of Corrections released plans this afternoon to move some inmates from Parchman to the nearby Tallahatchie County Correctional Facility in Tutwiler.

MDOC said that plan is among steps being taken to maintain order in the wake of recent unrest in the state prison system.
