1 person injured after shooting inside Memphis Walmart, suspect on the run, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are searching for the person responsible for a shooting that reportedly happened inside a Memphis Walmart around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The incident happened at the Walmart Neighborhood Marked in the 2800 block Hickory Hill road in the Fox Meadows neighborhood.

The shooting reportedly started because two customers got into an argument which led to shots being fired.

According to MPD, one male shooting victim was found and take to Regional One in non-critical condition.

The suspect fled on foot after the shooting, according to police.

Police described the suspect as a 40-year-old black male, average build, balding top with long braids in the back and wearing a black and brown jacket.

Police created a perimeter around the Walmart and are still investigating.

MPD said they are working to find witnesses and any video of the shooting. They are still working to find a motive and more details behind the shooting.

Bre’Anna Allen witnessed the ordeal and told FOX13, “I freaked out I totally freaked out because I had been hearing about shootings at Walmart all over the world and for me to be right there to witness it that was scary and like bullets don’t have a name and innocent kids, like there were so many kids in the store, and that’s not cool.”
