It's been nearly two months with no arrests in the horrific murder of a young woman burned to death in her car.

Family and friends of 19-year old Jessica Chambers gathered in Sardis, Mississippi Saturday for a vigil and balloon release just days shy of what would've been her 20th birthday.

“Here she was fixing to be 20, but she was still a young child at heart,” Chambers' Aunt, Deborah Sanders, said.

Just a couple days before what would've been Jessica's birthday, those who she left behind are here honoring her memory.

“She would love all the balloons, whatever you did to makeover her, she would be ecstatic over it,” Sanders said.

The holidays have gone by and now Jessica's birthday; her family has gone weeks with no word on who killed her.

“Justice will be served,” Jessica's Grandmother, Willie Beardain, said, “We have good law enforcement here in Panola County, and they won't give up until her killer or killers are brought to justice.”

Though they're celebrating Jessica's birthday this year without her, loved ones have this message for their angel: “I would tell Jessica you know just enjoy singing in that beautiful choir in heaven, and maw-maw will be there later on,” Beardain said.

Family members also had this message for whoever is responsible for Jessica's death.

“They will have to pay for that they did because every decision, every choice you make, you have to live by it,” Sanders said.

The reward for any information in Jessica's case is now at $53,000. If anyone has any information, they're urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-729-2169.
