FOX13 Family Focus kicks off its Season of Giving

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — FOX13′s Family Focus celebrates this year’s Season of Giving by supporting five local charities doing critical and amazing work in our community. Most non-profits are supported not by private dollars, but money donated by contributing individuals in this community.

The five non-profits include Mifa, known for reaching out to senior citizens, by providing healthy meals and emergency care.

Porter Leath is a safety net for families and children facing financial hardships. It also focuses on making sure school-aged children are ready to start school on time.

Neighborhood Christian Center is driven through ministry. They understand between ministry and supportive programs, they can offer hope and healing to broken communities.

Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County works every day to give dogs and cats a second lease on life. Its mission is to offer shelter, food, and medical care to hundreds of injured, neglected or abused animals in Shelby County.

Alpha Omega assists military veterans to reintegrate into society. They focus on supporting a vet’s recovery and rehabilitation from crippling mental and physical conditions. They offer food, shelter, job, and educational training.

This is an opportunity to give by paying it forward. When you support a non-profit, it also means you are supporting a community to reach and help those who need help the most. It’s going to take all of us to be a part of the solution, and not avoid the problem.

We can do this through your donations to your favorite charity. We have information and donation links for each non-profit.
