Ice cream truck driver attacked outside Memphis apartment complex


The Memphis Police Department has given FOX13 a surveillance picture of the car they are looking for in connection to the brutal beating of an ice cream truck driver.

MPD is looking for a red Pontiac Grand AM with Mississippi tags.

The license plate number: PAV 492.

Police tell FOX13 the suspects beat up Mamadou Bah and damaged his truck on July 26th at the Bella Vista Apartments.

A man driving an ice cream truck was attacked by three suspects outside the Bella Vista Apartments.

The police reports says the suspects robbed Mamadou Bah, 54, of 480 dollars and then beat him.

Police said the incident happened around 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday..

Charra Terry witnessed the attack.

"It was sad, real, real sad to see," Terry said.

Officers were told three males assaulted the victim. He was transported to a local hospital in non-critical condition.

People at the scene are under the impression that Bah had committed a crime. FOX13 investigation found there have been no criminal charges filed against the victim.

MPD is working to identify the suspects who they believe live in the apartments.

No arrests have been made at this point.

A video has surfaced of the alleged attack. It shows the victim being attacked with a bat, punched and kicked. The suspects in the video also break out the windows of the ice cream truck.
