Memphis, Tenn. — Family members and family friends continue to shed light on the tragic story of a 10-year-old girl police said was stabbed to death by her mother Friday night.
Police said 29-year-old Lawrencia Reed stabbed her 10-year-old daughter and her 18-year-old sister at the Huntington Hills Apartments.
Now, the father of one of Reed’s children confirmed to FOX13 that the 10-year-old who was stabbed to death is Kamari Reed.
Memphis Police said Kamari was rushed from the Raleigh apartments on Coach Road to Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center, but she did not survive her injuries.
Reed’s 18-year-old sister was taken to Regional One Hospital in life-threatening condition, police said.
When asked about her booking arrangements, Memphis Police told FOX13 that Reed is still being evaluated.
Reed is charged with first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder.
