SHELBY COUNTY, Tenn. — The Shelby County Health Department announced it will offer $125 Kroger gift cards during free COVID-19 walk-up testing events sponsored by the Health Department during the month of October.
The grocery assistance is available in partnership with the Shelby County Division of Community Services.
The gift cards are limited to 2 per household. They will be used to cover basic home and food expenses for people who must remain home while awaiting a test result.

The first testing event will be Saturday, October 10, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, located at 3825 Neely Rd.
The testing is free and available to anyone, age 13 and older, while testing supplies last.
The health department said Spanish interpretation will be available.
Each person tested will be asked to provide an address and two telephone numbers, so that they can be contacted within two to three days with the test results.
Testing will be available to those who are asymptomatic and those who have symptoms.
No personal information will be shared with government agencies outside of the Shelby County Health Department and the Tennessee Department of Health.
Free reusable masks will also be provided to everyone who is tested.
