Garry Goin Presents: Road to Memphis

Halloran Centre at the Orpheum Theatre Memphis presents Garry Goin Presents the Road to Memphis that starts at 7:30 p.m. on S. Main St.

Goin created a show that celebrates Memphis Music and all the roads that lead to Memphis.

The Mesmerist by Jeffrey Day

The Woodruff-Fontaine House Museum presents the Mesmerist by Jeffrey Day all weekend, Friday and Saturday, at 7 p.m. on Adams Ave.

This is a “one-man-show” that is based on the magicians of the 19th century.

In the show you will be seeing some exciting magic that has seldom been seen, even by current day magicians.

A Night of Candle Making with Hard Knot Designs—Powered by Arrow

Arrow Creative presents A Night of Candle Making with Hard Knot at 6:30 p.m. on Broad Ave.

You will have your choice of one 16 oz. three-wick candle or three 8 oz candles.

Each month, we will feature a new scent that you can use to fill your space.

Saturday:

Breakfast with the Birds

The Pink Palace Family of Museums and the Lichterman Nature Center presents breakfast with the birds at 7:30 a.m., both Saturday and Sunday on Quince Rd.

You will have breakfast overlooking Mertie’s Lake and learn birding basics followed by a guided bird walk through lake, meadow & forest trails.

Chinese New Year Art Contest and Family Day

The Belz Museum of Asian and Judaic Art is pleased to present the 16th annual Chinese New Year Art Contest and Family Day at 12 p.m. on S. Main St.

This year’s theme is A Peaceful New Year for the Rat. The Rat is the first of 12 Chinese Zodiac animals which means that the 12-year cycle begins anew in 2020.

Blindfolded Poetry Slam

Indulge Lounge and Writeous Soul presents a Blindfolded Poetry Slam at 4 p.m. on Winchester Rd.

Poets will compete in three elimination rounds for the chance to win one of three cash prizes ($100, $75, $50) and judges will be blindfolded during the first round.

A Cupcake Affair

Neapolitan Gourmet Cupcakes presents A Cupcake Affair at 5 p.m. on E. Parkway S.

You can celebrate the birthday of Theresa Baker, the owner of Neapolitan Gourmet Cupcakes as she launches her newest cupcake line!

Finders Keepers MCA Art Sale and Auction

Memphis College of Art and Community Education presents Finders Keepers at 6 p.m. on Poplar Ave.

MCA will sell over 500 pieces that span over more than a century that includes prints, paintings, sculptures, and more will be waiting for you throughout our galleries.
