Coldwater, Miss. — A 13-year-old boy is being charged with capital murder after a 13-year-old boy was found burned to death at a Mississippi home in June.
According to the Tate County Sheriff’s Office, a 13-year-old boy was found burned to death in the 2000 block of Arkabutla Dam Rd. in Coldwater, Miss. around 9:30 p.m. on June 30.
Tate County Sheriff Brad Lance told FOX13 that the 13-year-old and the other boy were friends and were playing alone inside of a shop when the 13-year-old boy was burned.
He was rushed to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. Later, he was taken to the burn unit in Little Rock, but he did not survive his injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
Now, the 13-year-old is charged with capital murder and will be tried as an adult, Sheriff Lance said.
Given the child’s age, FOX13 has made the choice not to release the name of the 13-year-old who is charged.
