16-year-old boy charged after missing man found dead, police say

Memphis, Tenn. — UPDATE: 8:55 p.m.

A missing man who MPD has been searching for was found dead.

Jerimiah Wynn was assaulted and kidnapped Sunday morning

According to MPD, officers found a man unresponsive near the 4900 block of Winchester.

Police confirm the victim as Wynn.

A 16-year-old was charged with Voluntary Manslaughter and Tampering with Evidence.

Memphis Police are asking for help finding a man they said was kidnapped early Sunday morning.

According to MPD, Jerimiah Wynn was assaulted and kidnapped in the 5000 block of Wooddale Ave. around 1:30 a.m.

Police said they arrived at the scene around 2:45 a.m. and found signs of an aggravated assault.

Officers believe Wynn to be the victim and said that he has not been located at any local hospitals, nor have any family members heard from him.

They say they last saw Jerimiah Wynn at his home on Wooddale Avenue.

Neighbors told FOX13 they believe Wynn is mentally challenged.

One neighbor said he believes he saw Wynn recently.

“This morning. Driving a car, a white Mercedes Benz. It was sitting right there. I know him when I see him,” said Mark Jones.

If you know the whereabouts of Jerimiah Wilson or have any information about what happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 5000 block of Wooddale Ave., police want you to call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH.

Any information that leads to an arrest, in this case, could be worth up to $1,000.
