MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis Police are investigating a crash that left three people dead Saturday night.
Officers responded just after 6 p.m. Saturday to a crash at the intersection of Alta Vista and Overton Crossing.
According to police, Car #1 tried to pass traffic by using the center turn lane and struck two people walking across the street, as well as Car #2 in the opposing lane of traffic.
The driver and passenger of Car #1 plus one of the walkers died from their injuries, police said. The driver of Car #2 and the other walk is listed in critical condition at Regional One.
The crash is still under investigation.
