FAYETTE COUNTY, Tenn. — Fayette County authorities are investigating an explosion that sent three people to the hospital with severe burns Thursday.
Two people were flown to a Memphis hospital with burns, director of the Fayette County Emergency Management Agency Hunter Winfrey, told FOX13.
Paramedics took the third to a local hospital. Winfrey said their injuries don’t appear life-threatening.
According to the Fayette County EMA Facebook page, “Emergency Crews worked an explosion today where 3 were injured. We won’t share anymore details at this time. Shown here are Fayette EMS crews, Fayette Co Fire Department loading patient on Hospital Wing for transport.”
Winfrey said the explosion happened in the ventilation system at the Troxel Company in Moscow around 2:20 p.m.
All three victims work for the company.
According to its website, Troxel Company manufactures welded steel and automotive tubing.
The cause of the explosion remains under investigation.
