Memphis, Tenn. — A 4-year-old boy was shot and killed Saturday night in Memphis, Memphis Police said.
MPD said the boy was inside a car with several adults when a shot was fired from outside of the car, hitting and killing the child.
Offers are on the scene @ Le Bonheur. A child, male, approx. 4-yrs old, arrived by a private vehicle w/a gunshot wound; he was later pronounced deceased. Preliminary info: the child was in a car w/ several adult males when a shot was fired from inside the car striking the child.

According to police, the child was rushed to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital by a private vehicle but was soon pronounced dead at the hospital.
FOX13 learned that Memphis Police quickly began investigating a scene in North Memphis on North Lexington Circle in connection with the boy’s death.

Police said that they believe someone inside the car was in an altercation with someone outside of the car when the shooting began.
This is still an ongoing investigation and no information about suspects has been released at this time.
