5 children involved in car theft ring, WMPD says

WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — Police in West Memphis, Ark. reported a car theft ring involving children and teens.

On Sept. 3, police responded to an auto sales business at 480 E. Broadway about vehicles being stolen off the lot.

Officers developed information about where the stolen vehicles could be located.

Detectives and patrol officers were able to recover and process all the stolen vehicles, WMPD said.

During the investigation, detectives identified five juvenile suspects ranging in age from 11 to 16.

Three of the five were arrested, WMPD said.

The investigation is ongoing.

The car thefts were reported on Aug. 30 at 1600 E. Broadway Blvd. and Sept. 2 at 480 E. Broadway Blvd.
