MEMPHIS, Tenn. — All early voting polls in Shelby County are officially open.
The early voting is for the May 3 County Primary Election.
“We wanted to expand the parking as a convenience to voters. This is part of our continued effort to make it as easy as possible for our voters to come out and cast their ballots,” said Linda Phillips, administrator of elections for the Shelby County Election Commission.
Offering voters easier access and pushing early voting is in alignment with the goals of the Shelby County Voter Alliance
“We are pleased that the Election Commission recognized the need for no-cost parking, until all locations across the county open,” said Ian Randolph, spokesman for the Shelby County Voter Alliance. “We encourage voters to vote this week or any other week during the Early Voting period and not wait until Election Day.”
The Election Commission has partnered with the Shelby County Voter Alliance to help spread the word about election-related matters during the Primary Election cycle.
All 26 locations will open with voting from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., except the downtown location. The downtown location’s hours will be 9 a.m to 5 p.m. throughout the early voting period.
Saturday, April 23, voting hours will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
