Dangerous heat wave, brutally muggy conditions hit the Mid-South

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Tonight partly cloudy skies with lows mild into the mid 70s.

Dangerous heat wave this week with highs around 100°F through Friday.

Heat advisory is in effect until Thursday at 9 pm but will likely be extended to include Friday.

Heat advisories may get upgraded to excessive heat warnings during this heat wave.

Heat index will be 100-115°F this week thanks to the brutally muggy conditions.

Drink lots of water and avoid doing activities outside during the hottest part of the day.

There will be rain falling across the Mid-South every day this week with a low 20% chance.

These showers and isolated thunderstorms won’t impact most of us and won’t last long if you do see it.

The best chance of rain moves in Saturday with the heat breaking down a touch.
