Two teens charged after 17-year-old shot to death at Memphis apartment complex, police say

Memphis, Tenn. — UPDATE (9/12/21):

A 17-year-old boy is dead and two 16-year-olds are charged in his death, Memphis police said Sunday.

MPD said they responded to a shooting call at the Hickory Farm Apartment Homes around 3:40 p.m. Saturday.

The victim was a 17-year-old boy.

A 16-year-old girl is charged with reckless homicide.

A 16-year-old boy is charged with being a juvenile in possession of a handgun.

Police said the preliminary investigation revealed the girl accidentally shot the victim with a gun “delivered by” the 16-year-old boy.

A boy is dead and a girl charged with homicide after a shooting at a Memphis apartment complex on Saturday, according to the Memphis Police Department.

MPD said they responded to a shooting call at the Hickory Farm Apartment Homes around 3:40 p.m.

According to police, when officers made the scene, a male juvenile was found unresponsive and pronounced dead.

Police said that a female juvenile was detained in connection to the boy’s shooting death.

That girl has been charged with reckless homicide, according to police.
