MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A South Memphis car crash Tuesday afternoon injured two people and caused a street to shut down.

The incident happened at Third and East Person, according to the Memphis Police Department.

Police said two people were taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Third Street was shut down northbound between Belz and S. Parkway, but has since reopened.

It is unclear what caused the car crash.
