Cousin shoots cousin, steals his gold grill and necklaces, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man found himself behind bars after police say he shot his own cousin and stole his jewelry.

According to the Memphis Police Department, a man sitting in a car with his cousin, 35-year-old Chazz Hill, on Vernon Ave. when the two began arguing.

That argument quickly turned physical, police said, and Hill went to his car and pulled out a .45 caliber handgun.

Hill then opened fire on his cousin, shooting the man repeatedly, according to police.

Before he left, police said Hill snatched his cousin’s gold necklaces off his neck and took his gold grill.

When the Memphis Police Department made it to the scene, they said they found the cousin suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

That cousin was rushed to Regional One Hospital with serious injuries, bullet wounds to his upper chest, shoulder and right arm, according to police.

Hill is charged with especially aggravated robbery and aggravated assault.
