People who already received their checks said they feared for those who were still waiting.

“Praise the Lord. I was a part of that first batch to receive that first stimulus check, and it kind of helped out, but if you’re behind on bills, that’s gone literally within a day,” said Danielle Huggins.

Huggins needed that stimulus check quickly when the pandemic forced her to file for unemployment back in March.

Last spring Congress passed the CARES Act to help strengthen the economy, including $1,200 dollar stimulus checks for most Americans whose tax information was on file from 2018 or 2019.

An analysis from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities revealed more than 12 million eligible Americans did not claim their stimulus check.

If you’re still waiting, here’s how to claim your stimulus check: log onto IRS.gov, click on the nonfiler tool on the website.  You can register and receive your stimulus payment by providing this information like your name, mailing address and date of birth.
