DESOTO COUNTY, Miss. — The amount of people being infected with COVID-19 across Mississippi is rising, but especially in DeSoto County, where there are more confirmed cases of COVID-19 than anywhere in the state.
The mounting number of hospitalizations is at critical levels.
There are efforts to flatten the curve in Mississippi with masks, which were given away by the hundreds Saturday.
The masks were given away at 11 drive-thru locations in the county and were free to those with Mississippi license plates or a Mississippi state identification.
“My mother lives with me and my husband has a lot of underlying conditions, so this is important to me,” said Kathy Killion after driving through one of the locations.
